  • So cool of you. I bought a 393 Stroker for my Mustang and it started making a similiar, but not as bad noise. If your oil looks like that rainbow (I had no metal in the oil or filter) it is bearing material most likely. Perfect face to make is at @15:48 Ended up being 5 rod bearings got hot due to not checking the bearings or something....

  • This can't be a legitimate workshop? You can hear the engine knocking from 6:47, obvious rod knock. Then they call it everything under the sun except what it is, spun bearing. They spend hours trying to diagnose it when it's clear to anyone with any idea about engines what it is instead of doing a simple oil check first up. Thinks topping up the oil will stop that noise. I mean a complete and utter shit show.

  • I have a 65 mustang with a mild street build 302 in it. Years ago when I was younger and poorer I was doing a burn out and accidentally buried the needle on a 10,000rpm tac. I immediately noticed a knock, no surprise. I was so disgusted and depressed that I put it in the garage and just figured I better start saving money. I waited at least a month before digging into it. I want sure what had happened so I started pulling the engine. The is so little involved in that, it only takes an hour. The very first thing I did was drop the inspection cover on the bell housing. I reached up and grabbed the crank pulley to rotate it ahead a little and it was loose. Every rotation it was rocking back and forth, making that knocking sound. I tightened it and and it was good. Never tried a 10,000+rpm burn out again though.

  • Mad respect for you guys sharing this. Most shops, most content creators would not share when something goes wrong. People need to understand that custom car building goes wrong sometimes, often a lot of times. It's just the trials and tribulations of custom engineering. Too many people think things just fall into place and POOOF you've got a custom bad ass ride... nope, it takes hard work, late nights and lots of swearing.

  • RIP that sucks. Just had to replace the motor in my 370Z after it spun a bearing with literally no warning. Ive always looked after it, regular oil changes, filters, etc, always used good quality oils, always a little early on changes and then one day I went to take off from the lights and it hesitated, I blipped the throttle and RATTLE RATTLE RATTLE. She dead. It happens :-/

    WrathlonWrathlon3 kuukautta sitten
  • Damn I miss my big turbo mr2 that was a fun ass car but honestly you can tell right away this is a spun bearing even before he floored it. I don't get why they don't just rebuild engines instead of tossing them in. You spend all this time and money on attention to detail and then overlook something as huge as rebuilding a junk yard engine.
