    • It's located in Tampere, Finland. Here's the specific address; Soukonvuorentie 14-38, 33560 Tampere. I actually live really close to this course and can't wait to throw it. It's still close because the ground is too soft and might Sink in, so they're keeping it closed until the ground's dry enough.

  • I will never understand why course designers make a beautiful tunnel shot hole then ruin it by leaving 1 tree right in the middle just in case someone throws a perfect shot. This seems to be a really common thing. Lazines or inept? The rest of the course is really impressive

  • With a little more tweaking and some maturing this will be a top notch course. It was great watching these teams. Leo and Teemu played an awesome round and got a well deserved win. Congratulations to them. Paige really held her own against these guys but then I'm #notsurprised after all she is amazing. :-D

  • when we play doubles round these parts, we alternate tee shots

    Andrew ChoateAndrew Choate2 vuotta sitten
    • In "best shot doubles" both players tee off and you throw from the best lye and so on for each shot until you or your partner make it in the basket. I think what you are doing is called 50/50 doubles or alternating doubles. There is also blind doubles where you play a normal round and then flip discs to find out who your partner is and count whoever has the best score on each hole to find out your final score it is pretty fun because you never know what your score will end up.

  • I don't know that I agree with some of the OB additions here. This course looks extremely punishing as it is where if you go off the fairway the rough will make the next shot very difficult. Other than that it looks like an incredible course with an awesome mix of shots.

  • Any hole in the woods with OB inside of the circle for no reason other than to be punishing, is a bad hole.

    tcpantherstcpanthers2 vuotta sitten
    • syv2un1 agree to disagree I guess.

      tcpantherstcpanthers2 vuotta sitten
    • That particular hole is approached from angle where that close OB ends the water hazard, so there is plenty of room for the disc to land behind that. Even when running it. Only when your approach is not thought out you might run it out from back OB like we saw Simon do. Then you get 30ft death putt. It's a great hole to play, and one of the many fun ones on the course. It's the only of it's kind on there and of course the whole place is built to test the best of the best.

      syv2un1syv2un12 vuotta sitten
  • This course seems like a lot of the initial gaps to hit off of the tee are kind of unfair. Definitely still needs some work before this is a truly good course

    tcpantherstcpanthers2 vuotta sitten
    • I agree, and this is the kind of constructive criticism that this course needs instead of everyone just saying that it looks great

      Chance RogersChance Rogers2 vuotta sitten
    • They are still testing the course to fine tune the layout. They might even change some pin positions completely. Jussi said, it's easier to test the layout as it is right now, with groups of several different skill levels, than growing trees afterwards (it takes at least 50 years to grow a ”full sized” tree).

      KekkonenKekkonen2 vuotta sitten
    • The course designer even admits to this himself in some cases. Quite a few holes on this course are demanding for a reason though, they were designed to challenge any player.

      Risto SalonenRisto Salonen2 vuotta sitten
  • Nice finish. I agree with Sexton's comment, thanks to Tampere for their investment in this course! The amount of effort that Finland is putting into disc golf means that a real Europe vs Americas event needs to be a regular yearly happening.

    • Your missing the part where this is in a mock championship layout. This course has more then one 18 hole layout for beginner - intermediate level players and the exhibition layout was just featured to show the potential of the course. Quite a few holes in this video were 2 easier holes combined in a safari layout to challenge the top pro's in the world.

      sadisticsinonsadisticsinon2 vuotta sitten
    • Not if you stay inbounds. It’s your job to beat the course... not say it’s ‘to hard’ and give up before you even throw~

      kayjo0925kayjo09252 vuotta sitten

  • So where in Tampere is this course located? I used to live in Tampere in 2001-2003 and started to play disc golf there. Fun story: The first time I went to Epilä disc golf park in Tampere, I approached a disc golfer and asked him: "Where can I buy those discs?" "The guy" dropped his bag to the ground, took a big sticker from there which said "www.frisbeezer.com" and he gave it to me saying: "That's where!" www.frisbeezer.com was online store where you could buy discs at the time. I didn't know this at the time, but now I'm pretty sure "the guy" was Jussi Meresmaa :)

    • Well, the problem is, The Beast (the course of the European Open) is like 20 kilometers away from this course. The city of Nokia has made the European Open possible in the past years, offering pretty much any (reasonable) support DGWT would ask from them. The city of Tampere would really have to give a great offer to earn the EO spot. Unless they are going to hold two different DGWT tournaments in Finland.
