  • I’m just now seeing this and this can’t be in one single round because the first two are both hole 5. Meaning different rounds. Still crazy though to eagle it twice!

  • Ty for this. What a great walk down memory lane. Watched this "live - disc golf coverage wise." The quality of the call of Simon's 3rd one shown here was up there with the best of the best. So natural of a call yet so powerful. Up there with call of Kirby Pucketts walk off game 6 world series call, no specifics yet knew what was being called, "we will see you tomorrow night."

    • @CooperE never said it was easy, dipshit. You won't find people who can play real sports throwing a frisbee around like they're in the background of a movie in a college quad. Dorks throw frisbees because they can't hit a baseball.

  • about the last hole: It's a dogleg left hole, so if it's 221m/726ft across the sides of a triangle, the hypotenuse is around 158-165m / 518-540ft

  • Regarding Hole 9's 726' distance... it is really ~654'. And as it is down hill, it plays closer to 600 ft. This course tries to measure the actual hyzer route versus the standard as the crow flies. It is why so many distances don't seem right to the players (including the pro's who comment on it a lot in the latest GBO videos). I have it measured out in Google Earth pic to show, but You Tube does not allow pics to be added to comments unfortunately. But don't get me wrong... a truly amazing Eagle by one of the greats of the sport!

    TghtLinTghtLin3 vuotta sitten
    • I mean, it's true. The disc didn't travel over 700 feet. It's incredibly impressive, but not 726 foot drive to 10 feet impressive. More like 600 foot drive to 10 feet which is still insane.

    AnthonyAnthony3 vuotta sitten
  • Big Jerm said in the front 9 coverage that the tee shot on hole 9 might be the best tee shot ever captured. Only 12 feet from the pin that's 726 feet away. Gonna need a second cam on Simon for that one next year. On hole 5 Simon comes within 2 feet of an Ace and just stays inbounds. Too bad Round 3 had to be canceled. There could have been some more amazing tee shots. Can't wait for the European Open and World Tour. Keep it up Simon. Time to win BIG!

    • @Bertrand Smith so throwing frisbees isn't a sport? Is ultimate feubee a sport? What is the definition of a sport? Nevermind. Here is the Webster definition "An activity involving physical exertion and skill in which an individual or team competes against another or others for entertainment."

    Dave LizotteDave Lizotte3 vuotta sitten
    • Well since this amazing shot had never been literally attempted, it's a learning lesson to prevent footage as 1:12-1:14 next time, anticipating adjustment on the fairway for a clear shot to the pin @ 1:17. In the actual round footage, you get the see the look on Simon's face sizing up his drive from the tee... :)

  • Obviously cutting the corner and downhill helps, but with how tight the green is and the trees in the way I really didn't think it was possible to attack hole 9 like that. :O Incredible!

    phtzphtz3 vuotta sitten
    • So, I went on google maps and measured the distance of a straight line and it said 644 ft. It's insane he was able to throw over the trees 644 ft! if you factor in the downhill part as well, it was pretty much a 600 ft super high throw.

    Brandin BowlerBrandin Bowler3 vuotta sitten
    • Google maps, distance from teepad to pin (straight line) is 655ft.

      Sean WolfSean Wolf3 vuotta sitten
    • I'd give him a solid 600 maybe 650 on that shot, the hole is downhill from tee to green as well and he did cut the corner, still a hell of a pull. Watched it half a dozen times.

      Delta9NineDelta9Nine3 vuotta sitten
    • Distance isn't always measured "as the crow flies." Hole 9 is a dog leg left and is measured from teepad to landing zone and landing zone to basket. Simon cut off about 150 feet by taking the anhyzer/turnover route.

      toshackztoshackz3 vuotta sitten
