The most affordable Samsung with full-array local dimming has an excellent picture.

He said he didn't get a chance to test out either console but then goes on to say it's got 120 refresh rate and you're not going to get any lag gaming how do you know when you didn't test out a console.
Oled still is the way to go
For a darker room. QLED beats OLED for use during the day in bright rooms.
Is the Q90T a better buy at $300 more that the Q80T
Does it have 4k@120hz in hdmi 2.1?
I'm getting one...
I think the q80t is a beast I love my 55inch q80t Samsung its not cheap either but it was worth every penny in my opinion.
You made me watch this video in darkness. Alexa turned my lights out! XD
Qual a diferença entre a q80t pra q80ta?
We have that tv
its edge lit , lmao tv is trash with 2012 tech
No it's not. Q80T is full array not edge lit. You confused this TV with Q70T which is edge lit.
I don't get it. On the official product images this model has aluminum bezel and not totally black like in this video. I prefer the latter.
Why is remote control not from Steel?
Got my 65in Q90T for $1600 out the door 😎
How so?
Love that he’s watching EVO lol
At the same price I'm going with Sony 950h.
no idea but i love samsung
Had this TV and returned after 2 days due to horrible vertical banding, also the remote is the worst
idiet
What makes you think not many people watch tv from the side
Io ho visto il QE50Q80TATXZT di Samsung ma in sincronizzazione ha scritto DVB-TCS2(T2 Ready) x 2 è un televisore che andrà bene per il futuro cambio del digitale in Italia?
1k th like. Send TV. Thanks.
Got a 75 inch for $1200, just missing the stand. Good deal, or no?
uh yeah! a good stand is around 40 bucks on amazon
David how do you not have a youtube channel! You'd be huge!
You should tell people that if they're getting this tv for gaming, that the good features(4k120Hz,VRR) starts at the 55" and up. The 50 and lower only have a 60Hz panel
That is false I just looked up the specs of the 50" 80t it says 120
My Dad got a good deal on this TV for Black Friday!
How much he paid
I have the Q60T 43 inch 4K Samsung. It has only 3 HDMI inputs instead of 4, and one composite input. The only difference really is the 43 inch I have only has the regular 60 HZ. So no 120 HZ fps with games. Which is fine to me. So if you can only fit a smaller TV, which is the situation for me, than the Q60T is rated quite high for a 43 inch 4K TV.
Please tell me I'm not the only one having issues with the TV getting kicked off wifi overnight? Really annoying!
I was having the same issue, I just hard wired it.
Thanks for driving my alexa crazy.
Good review but the video seems like it was filmed from a camera recording from another camera.
How does Q80T compare to the 2019 Q70R?
@Billy Balukos me too! Was remote to buy a tv next month but I heard the CET even next week will unveil a lot of new TVs for this year.
@Matt275 Thats what I read too. 2021 is supposed to be a good year to buy a TV. I’m going to wait and see what Sony and Samsung will have to offer. Thanks for the reply!
From what I’ve read the Q80t is a major upgrade from the Q70R.
This is not a review, its an advertisement
Pretty sure this is a Q90. Q80s don't have that stand.
Spot on! Q80T hits the sweet spot among price, picture quality and features.
I own the 55 inch q80T I think its perfect fir the ps5
Absolutely.
i have the x900h but would you say the q80t is better for HDR? i'm not impressed with the HDR so far. it looks very dim and there's no vibrancy to HDR games.
Lol 1,500 for this .... give me an LG oled any day
I paid $949 with free shipping for the 55" Q80T, and it looks gorgeous with the Ps5
No Dolby vision
50" is 60hz not 120hz
What size is this one?
I just got my 55” Q80T this weekend. It’s my first Smart TV and my first TV since my 2008 Insignia 42” 1080p - which still works btw. I have been geeking out all weekend and I absolutely love this TV. In the words of my favorite YT review, it’s “future proof.”
Is it worth it
That's a great TV..!!
I got this tv and thought it was very dark even at its peak brightness where my previous Q6fn was actually brighter.
Well the Q80T is absolutely horrible for the PS5/XSX, really bad inverse ghosting in Game Mode, also really bad uniformity and Dirty Screen Effect when watching kids cartoons/Sports etc.
@K Yep and i 100% understand where your coming from. Despite its issues the 80T looks alot better than the 900h when it works Only reason why I'm not returning it RN is because there isn't anything better on the market, apart from the OLEDs but they have their own issues
@moist_nana have you updated it? i read an update fixed those issues. i have an x900h and i'm really disappointed with the performance and considering a q80t primarily for gaming. the HDR just isn't good on it and it doesn't get very bright. also 4k120hz mode is completely broken right now.
@K Yes
do you own it?
Why can't Samsung use Android like everyone else ? Tizen is junk. Android can run Firefox, VLC and Kodi. Tizen can't.
Tizen is a way better tv interface. Android Os for tv is sluggish everywhere unless you got an Nvidia Shield.
i currently have the samsung UN75H7150 LED 240Hz 3D smart TV....is it worth the jump to the Q80T or the Q90T ?....thx good review
A better option is to go for the x900h the contrast and black levels are way better than the q80t, they are even better than the q90t
@HakoGS 1905 ya i am gonna try and go with the Q90T
I bought this tv but I regret it because before this one I had a Samsung UE46D7000 Full HD from 2011 and it had a much better picture quality than these new TVs. I don’t know what happened in those 9 years but older tvs especially from 2010-2011 had much better quality. I noticed that that the picture of the q80t is a bit yellowish even after i tried different settings and another thing that annoys me are the corners of the screen which are lightly darker than the rest of the picture. Maybe you better look after the q90t, I heard that it has a much better picture quality than the q80t but nothing can beat those good old Full HD tvs.
I just bought the 50-inch because I could not resist the price. The $1100 TV was on sale for $847.99. I also had an $80 gift cert that I applied, so I paid $767.99, before taxes, for an $1100 TV. I know the Sony X950H is probably a little better quality, although it has blooming issues, but I wasn't ready to pay close to $1000 for a TV. There just isn't that much difference in picture quality.
Expensive poc tv. Need to be calibrated to get the best image. DONT BUY IT !!! best buy charge $250.00 just to calibrate the image in this tv.
@Jeremy Ratter no , but checks bussiness scams
@All River The FTC checks TV calibrations?
Rtings scored it 8.8 on factory calibration which is a good score. With additional calibration is improved to 9.6, so yes for best picture it needs calibration but it still looks good as is.
Calibrate haha they just suck out your Money for a black screen, they make IT so dark
@All River nope was part of the deal....hope it is on my next one too
"A price thats not out of this world.." lol come buy it in Australia
@moist_nana i see what you mean. Yes an OLED would be great to have and the prices are ridiculous.
@greenFinger225 I'm not advocating for Samsung or anything, I actually think this TVs garbage but Samsungs prices in Aus do hold up internationally, other brands like LG do not, different supply and demand = we have to pay up to 5k for an OLED -_-
@greenFinger225 I guess it depends what you want it for, personally I haven't heard great things about Hisense and even there top models aren't recommended against the LGs, Samsungs, Sonys, etc. At a similar price. 2k is kind of the bare minimum for a good TV, you MIGHT be able to find a good 55" for slightly less.
@moist_nana it was 2.9k at most places until black friday. And even at 2.5k its overpriced in my opinion. Ive seen cheaper hisense tvs that look a lot better in visual quality than the q80T. Just my 2cents..
Actually pretty well priced in Aus, 2.5k for the 65" and 2.9k for the 75"
Is the q80t better value than the q90t?
BOTH OF THEM NEED TO CALIBRATED IMAGE INSTEAD TO GET THE BEST QUALITY IN COLORS AND BRIGHTENESS. Dont buy it. The same with the q70t.
Great TV with surprisingly good speakers. Mine just happens to have some bad DSE
I see QLED, I immediately clo
@Chronicles Chrome Absolutelly. The differences are like HDD vs SSD. The QLED naming pisses me off also. That naming should get banned...
OLED you prefer?
Is this the best TV for minimizing reflections in a bright living room? I’m looking for a TV with great reflection minimization and excellent brightness
@Mike A you got the best bargain with the q80r. Wish I could have purchased it last year... to get the same antiglare feature, you now have to purchase the Q800T which is over $1000 more than a Q80r
@soiceyboy33 oh cool
@Mike A I heard they removed the antiglare from the Q80T unfortunately. Just found out today. Apparently Samsung's 2020 lineup is a dumbed down version of their 2019 lineup
Ya man i think its an anti glare. My q80r is anyways.
Hi between Sony X900H and Samsung Q80T which one would you choose and why?
I got Sony and I like it very much :)
X900H, i saw both of them and the picture of the Sony was much more appealing to me. I don't like the Samsung Qleds very much. My gf has the q70r which is basically the 2019 version of the q80t and i am not impressed. there is dirty screen effect and the picture just doesn't pop that much
Their*
Q80! Better quality. But if you play games choose Sony because theus Game mode is better.
Seriously, CNET, how hard is it to mute out trigger words?
It looks fine but it’s still tv. 🤮🤪💩
Why can't you bleep the wake word? I don't get it, you're not a little or new channel
What's better overall the Samsung Q80T or Sony950h?
@MrEddyedr No, neither did the A8H. The 950H and A8H only support 1 HDMI2.1 feature which is available over HDMI2.0 and that's eARC. Slowly Sony are rolling out HDMI2.1 features for the X900H but really it doesn't compare to the Samsung Q70T and up (80,900,800etc.) Who already support it all out of the box. Like I said if your not to concerned about 4k120Hz, VRR, ALLM and all that good stuff for gaming get the Sony (better contrast, Dolby Vision etc.). If your after a more gaming specced TV (all that good stuff plus lower input lag, response times etc.) Get the Samsung.
@moist_nana didn’t the 950h get a 2.1 update? Since the A8H girl one. Overall the 950 is the better tv just because Sony has better processing, a better comparison would be the q90t and 950g
Overall 950h BUT the Q80T would be better for gaming (HMDI2.1, lower input lag, response times etc.)
@kimnotyze1983 What makes the Sony better?
sony
But who the faq still uses a TiVo??
« Samsung has real voice assistant not just Bixby » 😂🤣
Your eyes can’t tell the difference in picture quality no more...Technology is too good on all TVs now...you can get a $500 tv that look the same...Don’t waist your $
@ChiHighRecords I hate that look...it start to look fake then...bluray started looking like that...HD Is the best your eyes really can see...4k quad hd all this unecessary stuff
Turning up motion smoothing on this tv makes things on screen look 3d.
You're professional channel you should know how to mute Alexa word like any other channel on FIstream
do the tui7100
Hisense>Samsung Why? you can no longer stream movies from certain websites on 2019+ Samsung Smart TV's. Total deal-breaker, In addition, Movies in MKV not native playable from a flash thumb drive "Are you kidding me" my kids Walmart $250 Hisense Roku can!!!!!
@Aliengrade You are confusing that statement with: the faster a "slow" processor is worked.. Which is not the case.. a high end, more recent processor, would cope with way less effort to achieve better results.
The faster the processor the more het it produces the more heat the less life@O. Arzaluz
@Aliengrade Age.. a good processor is key for longevity.
@ChiHighRecords Please educate me why you need a fast Processor other than frame rate the Blueray picture comes out fine. now a larger problem is trying to stream a movie and Samsung has infringed on my right to see whatever the heck I want and whatever websites I want. and No flash Support for certain File formats, This is unexcusable! I have 2 maxed out Imacs do NOT NEED MY TV to have a FAST PROCESSOR IT IS A MONITOR NOT RENDERING A 3D MOVIE!!
I upgrade from a hisense H8 never going back after getting q80t, processors in Hisense slow so you get a clunky menu or UI.
A good review except for the omission of the Q80T having a wide angle view. This differentiator could be important to some viewers.
Samsung neutered their QLED line every year. The Q80T is basically the Q70R from last year
Rtings says "Overall, the Samsung Q80/Q80T QLED is better than the Samsung Q70/Q70R QLED. The Q80T has a faster response time, better color accuracy, and it has much wider viewing angles thanks to its 'Ultra Viewing Angle' layer. Reflection handling is also significantly better on the Q80T, but the Q70R has a higher native contrast ratio as well as better black uniformity. "
😍
Best tv Iv ever owned
@Joe H no it is perfect. Can’t believe how impressed I am
Does this model have any issues in terms of performance and picture quality when playing 120fps games on PS5? And is it better performance and better bandwidth to leave game mode on or off when gaming on PS5?
While Tizen´s low hierarchy menu system makes up for some of the sore deficiencies of the remote, in comparison to the 2014 (!!!) HU-series gyro-based or the LG Magic remote this one is **absolutely positively BS**. Because of the lack of essential buttons you have to go through some menu for anything but the most common tasks.
$1500 nope. Sorry guarantee the picture isn't much better than my $400 TV.
Aquí en México 🇲🇽 ya cuesta 20 mil pesos ahora las cosas aquí son Más baratas ya?
Really you can't bleep the wake word!
I bought Q80T in the summer, so far love it. I think what he says in the video is 100% true, I won't say it is the best picture quality out there (if you want to picture quality, go with OLED). But, what I went for is the size (75 inch +), price ( sub $25K) and reliability (no burn in). LG OLED B series has the size and price combination, but I know the burn in will bother me. My family members are not really careful on appliances. I can go to bed and wake up find TV is on all night. I don't want to take the risk of burn in on my $25k TV. So, Q80T is really the best option out there. The Gaming HDMI or 2.1, is really the down side. Samsung only gives you 1 port, this is unbelievable. I fund out it when I bought it back. So, if you plan for multiple next gen consoles, you may want to wait for a year or 2.
You woke up my alexa twice lol😕😜✌️
Why don't you guys ever link the product in the description?
Is the Samsung Q60T 43" any good?
Don’t get that one, it’s missing a few features and the blacks are actually gray. Rather get a previous tv.
Series 6 bro. If you can buy better like TU8000 or Q70/80/90/95 :)
I just bought the 50 inch Q80t from Best buy but my HDMI 4 dosn't show the game controller symbol. Does that mean its not 2.1
You have to get the 55inch
How’s the picture quality and motion?
@greendude96 yes game mode is on
Have you enabled "game mode" in the menu? Technically it's 2.0, but with a higher bandwidth.
Yeah, the HDMI 2.1 is only on the 55" and up.
Too expensive...I’ll save a lot of cash and buy a Vizio M series. I know it’s not as good as the Q80...but it’s a nice enough tv and it’s only about $500-$600.
hope it lasts, my 75 m vizio died just after warranty and same with my dads vizio. They start to flicker and its over
Yes we need more tv reviews please
At first I've forgot that one of the best advertiser of Sumsung TV is advertising but thought him as a commentator when there are race car.🤣😃
Stop saying “Alexa” already.
An led tv for the price of an OLED!? No thank you
@Carfilliot You really just accepted that what you sent was a useless wall of text? Not the smartest reply. And don't respond with some puerile nonsense.
None of my oleds have burn in.
@E39 Purist you’re welcome, always a pleasure to educate the ignorant. In you case, it seems ignorance is a lifetime ambition!
@Carfilliot Improved, but are still highly susceptible to burn in. I'll stay with the marginally different QLED and switch to mini LED (which is OLED without the issues) when it's ready. But thanks for the pointless wall of text.
@E39 Purist that’s like me saying “enjoy your limited contrast ratio, considerable power inefficiency, and slow pixel response time when compared to OLEDs.” No tv is perfect and OLEDs have improved a great deal in the past few years with their screensaver technology. There’s no such thing as a perfect tv, just a perfect picture quality which OLED beats LED without question.
This isn't a late review, but an advertisement just on time.
@Omar Al-Azzawi yeah since 2012 i stopped watching them because of this stuff. They don't give me a indepth review of pros and cons, just a advert. Mxm cnet and ign are in the same WhatsApp group even their company colours are the same its kinda sus
Exactly but it's CNET so this is not new for them
Are you new to the internet and tech reviews, or just really lazy? If you're going to trigger or Amazon Alexa devices, be a little bit more creative and say "Alexa, subscribe to CNET on FIstream."
Great video 👍
Why do you made this review now ? Next year lineup will be release soon

A lot of people say last years q80r is better. I haven’t seen this model so idk
@ChiHighRecords 80R yes does have better dimming zones but also more uniform blacks. More peak brightness. Wider color gamut. Better native contrast. The 80t has hdmi 2.1 so 4k at 120hz, g-sync, and Dolby atmos via arc and slightly better motion blur. Besides the hdmi 2.1 which is something that’s new to all high end newer tv’s I’d say q80r is a better tv. Something that is new shouldn’t have a worse display. They should’ve built upon the q80r display with better features like hdmi 2.1 and Dolby and g-sync. For its primary purpose of watching tv the q80r would be better for the same price. Samsung even got rid of full array local dimming zones in q70t vs the q70r had it last year so they kept the same name and charged same money but had an edge lit display instead. That sucks. I’d avoid this model completely if it was me. I have a q80r and I do miss hdmi 2.1 and Dolby atmos but other than that this tv is phenomenal. I love it.
Only difference is the amount of dimming zones more on the q80R but a better upscaler on Q80t
It doesn't have the best picture quality? Are you being serious right now? Those are your personal views. This TV has the best picture quality and I am enjoying it a lot
He never said it had bad picture quality, just not the best. Put this tv next to an LG OLED and you’ll clearly see what he means.
im gonna save my $1500 for better things "like" my life
@sheikh saad umm maybe search about topics that can improve your life or learn something new? Ultimately it's your time, if you want to waist it just because you are in quarantine, be my guest.
killing time bruh its Covid-19 year what can you do !
So why are you even watching a TV review? If you are so concerned about your life you are waisting your time here.
Ni los has de tener
This lineup has always been lit.
Dude, stop saying Alexa!
@Navysealsnake just saying Karen
@Mark Fitzpatrick That is difficult to do when you have at least one Alexa in every room of the house.
Well, I just fell down and broke my expensive folded cell phone while watching this video. 🤔
Come on he needs too to demonstrate it you can watch this video away from your Alexa
Turn off the microphones
Interested.
But they're not Oled
Yeah but it’s bright
We dont need screen burn tv.s like oled
And that's a good thing. OLEDs are unreliable and are high susceptible to burn in. I'll wait until Samsung develops their mini LED but I'll continue buying their QLED.
Wait for 3-4 years. They're gonna do QD-OLED.
Get the Sony x900h or x950h they are better. The Samsung Q90t is better than those TVs though
@moist_nana plus the 950 has Dolby Vision and Atmos support, for what it's woth.
@Neil the q90t has more dimming zones and is much brighter which is a big deal in qleds.
Not true, the X900H is a great cheap TV but PQ can't match the 80T, the 950Hs can but doesn't have the features of the 80T
The Sony's are currently dealing with a terrible firmware update that has caused a lot of issues
What makes you say the Q90t is better? Isn't supposed to be only a slight upgrade over the Q80t?
What's the price?
5th or 6th?
I think the pandemic has taught people the importance of multiple streams of income unfortunately having a job doesn’t mean security.

So then how does one invest? How do I start or what do I need? How much to start and what app or what?
What does that have to do with a tv?
