  • Jamal Browner will have the all time record raw soon. No suite and no hitching. He can still use straps tho. And its not strongman so it could just be certified as a stand alone world record in the Guinness Books.

  • I hope he breaks the record before his back, 'cause the second will be broken for sure some day.

  • Now we know just how hard 500KG is to lift. IMO Thor's attempt was unoffcial.

  • I think he would easilly pulled that weight. That was not related to his strenght. He is. Blood pressure/head pain - that have stoped him.

    PR StationPR StationUukausi sitten
    • @PR Station a 120kg thor could probably still pull 400kg, but noone cares about pound for pound, because it is just a stupid way to measure it. being double the weight doesnt make you 2 times as strong. pound for pound a child might be stronger than you

    • I think Powerlifting should be all about pound-for-pound forget the Wilks forget the world records " amount" all that s*** is something that somebody made up so they can be strong at something

    • ye, the athlete who dominated strongman and completely focussed on deadlifting definitely cheated by letting his dad weigh the rogue calibrated plates under official supervision during a pandemic.

  • Eddie will always be the trademark and King of the Deadlift. He is the first man who sacrifices his body to get to see the human limitations in front of many people. Even Thor in interview don't believe he can't do it, he said " That's a big jump from his last record. I think that's Impossible. I think he need to do 450 kg x 5 to be able to do that. " But then he always proves to the people how strong he is.

  • God is so good. No matter what happens in life, He has a plan better than anything we can imagine. He is working all things out for our good, even when we don’t understand why some things happen the way they do. Don’t lose faith, keep trusting and believing in Him. God isn’t done with you, keep fighting the good fight. Be a blessing to someone today. God bless. Do you know Jesus as your Lord and savior? It’s the best decision you can ever make, and at the end of the day, it’s the ultimate decision we have to make. This life is only temporary. Eternity is forever. Do you know where you will spend eternity? God bless. God is so good.

    • It's a Strongman deadlift, suit and straps. Keep your purist raw bs to yourself. These people HAVE to have that equipment or things could go very wrong. There's a reason why the record is so high.

  • He really should change his form like Pete Rubish did, flatter back and lower hips is harder off the ground but easier to lockout. You hear that, easier to lockout. Pete Rubish used to have to grind so hard when pulling like this for upper 700s and when he changed his form he is pulling 390-420 kg with cleaner pulls. Slower off the floor, but overall takes him less time since he doesn’t hit a wall at his knees

  • If I look 1000 times to Hafthor's lift I will say the same: Hafthor pulled the 501 kg at least two times in training before he attempted it. Of course, he kept all the footage and didn't upload anything on social media. But he knew that the 501 kg already reserved for him. Another thing is the prize money for the new World record. I guess he got 200 K$ for the new world record and that not a joke. Such opportunities will not be given every day. So congrats to Hafthor, he still has the world record for deadlift till the end of 2020

  • His grip is a little too close. He uses more traps in his lifts. Look at Thor's grip; just a little out of shoulder's width. Thor uses legs, glutes, lats and traps simultaneously. If the Russian dude can distribute the weight evenly on all muscle groups he'll achieve the lift. Just look at his take off, you could tell.
