    • So I get ridiculously emotional in the week proceeding and after my period. Like way more then what I feel would be considered normal. Do you think hormonal birth control might help me with that? Or no?

      Tora TouchstoneTora Touchstone20 päivää sitten
    • Contraception in hormonally or chemically unstable bodies, poor phrasing, can cause mental and glandular side effects as well as causing infertility through creating a nutritional or hormonally deficient atmosphere, if glands are affected nutrients won't be used as efficiently. However. You'd have to be sensitive to not recover.

    • My favourite thing about your videos is how you don't play shame the patient games. You are cognizant of what harm even mildly abusive behaviours can have on a patient. Just because a patient hasn't told a doctor about previous abuse doesn't mean it can't exist. Big love ♡ive

    • *Fans of Mama Doctor Jones please read!!!!* We all know that Mama is often demonetized because our lady parts are scary! Another creator has started a petition to have better (human) reviews on vids, it might be helpful (can't hurt!) if you have a moment, please look at or see what Dennis from Def Noodles (the creator of the petition) says for more info. I KILLS me that some creators are getting squeezed off of FIstream, while some of the most toxic behaviors seem to get rewarded..we need more like Mama Doctor Jones and WAY less Ace Families....thanks in advance!! Stay safe everyone!!

  • Vaginal garlic absolutely works for vaginal itchiness. I've used it many times will no ill effects. I'm not saying it will work on STIs - I would never use it if I thought for a minute I had chlamydia, gonorrhea, or trich. Those 3 definitely need pharmaceuticals. What's the harm? Monistat and Flagyl may work too but I'm telling you garlic works and it's not harmful.

  • I have a real issue with birth control being marketed as the Responsible Thing to Do as a Woman when the side effects are 1. debilitating and life-altering, and 2. placing the burden of responsibility on the person who’s biology can at MOST produce a human every ten months INSTEAD of the person who can potentially just copy/paste their genetics with a single emission. I was on BC for almost a decade with the full run of side effects. Depression, hair loss, sudden weight gain, and total numbness, as far as like, libido, y’know? I got my implant taken out and have been celibate and off it for more than a year, and have felt more in touch with my body than I’ve felt in forever. I’ve used the pill, the patch, the arm insert and the IUD, and I commend any person who’s surviving with birth control because holy shit!! This shits fucked!

    HaleyAleina1HaleyAleina13 päivää sitten
  • honestly while I was on the pill I was hoping that it'd help me gain weight (at the time I was 18, 5'7, and averaged 105lbs) or at the very least help me start to feel hunger again, which it kinda did help but still wasn't great. I also hoped it'd help make my periods more regular but that didn't really happen. it did make me grow 2 inches and also go from a A cup to probably a C if I still wore bras though, the increased breast size at the time I was happy about since I felt that was one less thing for my siblings and parents to make fun of me for, now not so much as I've realized that I'm not a girl.

  • My boyfriend had a hard time getting a vasectomy for the same reasons the woman did, so my ob offered to do it because I have a history of health issues and knew I was done after I had my first kid. It went great, until it failed after 3.5 years (I had the cauterization). I was pregnant but it only lasted for 5 weeks even though it wasn’t ectopic (to this day I don’t understand why it was in my uterus but ended in miscarriage, the only thing I knew was they my hcg was low) and then my boyfriend went to get a consult with a urologist again and once the dr heard that my bf wanted it done because my tubal failed , he said ok and that was it.

  • When my mom tried to get her tubes tied 29 years ago the female nurse gave her a lecture about how she would regret it. This is about how the convo went. Nurse "You might want more kids someday." Mom "Nope, just the one." Nurse "Your husband might want more." Mom " He is also good with just the one, and left the number of kids to me. " Nurse "You might get remarried and your new husband might want biological kids." Mom had to report the nurse to the male doctor. He was very angry and had a talk with the nurse about how out of line she was. He apologized whole heartily to my mom. Btw my parents are still happily married and thanking God they decided on just one child. IDK what this nurse expected my mom to do, form her life around the wants of an imaginary second husband's? Also, why are we still having the same issues 29 years later?

She's acting like she found a CT scan of a bowling pin up somebody's anus (please nobody try that - use approved toys with a properly flared base if that's your thing). A positive pregnancy test isn't a rare event. Nor is it an amusing one in a patient that is unprepared to care for a child. Cringey af...

  • Good on you for calling the last one out. Considering how many teenage girls are on tik tok, it's incredibly damaging of them to post that. I'm horrified that they thought it was in anyway appropriate or professional to post. I get that you all have tough jobs and need to let off steam, but it should never be at the expense of a patient (theoretical or otherwise). There's plenty of other ways to have fun without resorting to that. Teens who are pregnant are already vulnerable as it is, why post something that will make them less likely to seek health care or help. That's how we end up with girls giving birth alone and dumping their babies or hurting themselves trying to abort it (extreme examples but they happen).

  • Hi there! You said that birth control increases the production of sex hormone binding globulin which binds to free testosterone and can inactivate it to some extent which decreased libido-is this why sometimes people on birth control get an increase in their sex drive while on their period? Because they are taking the sugar pill and have more free testosterone?

Leaky gut is also known as intestinal hyperpermeability. “'We don’t know a lot but we know that it exists,' says Linda A. Lee, MD, a gastroenterologist and director of the Johns Hopkins Integrative Medicine and Digestive Center."--webMD And this is something I have actually suffered a lot from with no help from conventional medicine, so please don't add insult to poor care.

  • Thank you for commenting on the last type of video. ● I've been subjected to malpractice and plain old unprofessional behavior by numerous nurses and doctors who have a negative stigma of anyone (especially mothers) who used to struggle with substance use disorder or have prescriptions for controlled medications. ● I was addicted to opiates after being prescribed at a young age. After a long battle and journey to get clean... (literal blood sweat tears and more🥴) ... I've finally been clean for 3+ years now. Unfortunately, this path was filled with MANY admissions to the ER and hospital. I have underlying chronic conditions (part of why I was prescribed those strong meds in the first place) that created a perfect storm in my body during withdrawals. ● Physical dependence on opiates is tough foreveryone, but for me, trying to get off them almost killed me a few times because I did it cold turkey. ● Finally got it right after using detox, inpatient/outpatient, and methadone maintenance therapy. I continue some useful therapy treatments till this day to keep myself strong enough to function normally day to day . And for me and my specific body including my mental and physical health conditions I deal with, i have become a medical marijuana patient. I use micro doses and that has enabled me to not only stay clean, but also eliminated ANY trips to the hospital or ER for the longest time ever in my life. 😊 ● Anyways, one time in particular that I experienced an awful attitude by a "professional" , was when I had a nurse tell me and my new boyfriend at the time (now my husband) that the ONLY reason I was having severe ibs , panic attacks and cyclical vomiting syndrome SYMPTOMS, was due to me using marijuana. Not any type of actual underlying conditions that I've been diagnosed with. She said that those diagnoses must have been false. I explained that I know that can happen in large doses of thc heavy strains... however, I use .5grams of low thc 1:1 cbd medicines per month and that would be impossible since I haven't been smoking since I was 7 lol... She persisted and said that if I disagreed I could just find care at another hospital. • She also refused to give me my daily heart medication because she felt that I didn't need to "be more sedated" . •Luckilly the next doctor on shift administered it because my BP shot to 170 and my HR was 125 within a few hours. ● That wasn't the only experience I had but it's just awful when professionals don't act professionally. No one that deals with patients should judge or stigmatize their patients, ever, but especially not publically. 😊💘Thank you for pointing this out. Hopefully as someone in the field yourself, more people will listen to you and take your words to heart!💘 Bedside manner is greatly underrated sometimes!

I've been on BC for over a year now and stayed on even after I don't need it for contraception, and that fatigue is just gone. BC has seriously changed my life.

  • Thank you so so so much for "defending" hormonal contraception. The amount of posts I've seen that demonize it made me feel super insecure. I am on hormonal contraception to keep my hormones "in check" and give me a regular cycle. My "male hormones" (mainly testosterone) used to be really high before, which made me have extreme hair growth on my legs, arms, etc.and made my cycle super super irregular (it lasted anywhere from 32 to 52 days, giving me my period almost randomly). When i started taking it, i had massive side effects at first (migraines mainly) but I improved very quickly. Not only did it help physically but also mentally. It really stabilized my mood as well, which helps me with my mental health issues. Yes, it did lower my libido, however, that's something i can live with. Also I'm definitely not taking it for the contraception part. I'm in a wlw relationship, and me getting pregnant is pretty much impossible like that :D

  • I thought I'd share my mum's story about getting her tubes tied. Obviously I was only told the story, so take each detail with a grain of salt. My mum had me when she was 22, and she only wanted one child so she could "spoil them rotten". Since she was pretty young, they obviously were asking "are you sure about this" "you're too young" and "what if you want more kids". Overall though, they didn't give her too hard of a time. They did their job in making sure she thought it through, and didn't completely ridicule her for her decision. She hasn't regretted her choice at all, and is actually glad she made that decision. You may be asking why I brought this up? This is how people should do their job. Make sure their patient thought a big decision through, don't try to make them feel bad about it. For many people a decision like that is a hard one to make, and you never know why they felt the need to pick the choice they did. Making sure they thought it though is okay. Trying to make somebody change a decision that is theirs and theirs alone is not.

      Lana JoyLana Joy4 päivää sitten
    • @Lana Joy She's married. She has kids and a husband. She has videos about them. And you wear a ring because the first thing a decent guy notices about an attractive woman is her left hand. But not everyone is decent. Dont be a stumbling block. Dont be low hanging fruit. Abraham told Abimelek that Sarah was his sister, not his wife, and Abimelek's house got jacked up because he took Sarah to be his wife when she was already married. Lana Joy, dont mess with the covenant of marriage and dont purposefully encourage people to mess with the covenant of marriage. You know exactly why. AND It's actually everybody's business when anyone is married. Marriage is a public announcement. Life isn't always about YOU, and sometimes we do things to HELP OTHERS. Not wearing your ring might not make you blatantly disloyal. But it does mean you willfully project signals and invite attention you have no business attracting that possibly not only hurt you and your family, but also bring plague and destruction on someone else's house. Go in peace and grace from the Lord of Hosts and have a long and happy marriage that is not plagued with temptations.

  • The first video on birth control, specifically when she mentioned weight gain as a side affect, made me think of my experience. This was YEARS ago and I’ve switched pills many times since then because I switched insurance companies multiple times, but when I first started taking birth control, my obgyn wanted to check in with me after 3 months to see how the pills were working. In those months, nothing about my diet or exercise changed, but I gained 30 lbs. My obgyn then proceeded to try to sell me on a dieting plan/book for the rest of the appointment. I was already an insecure middle schooler, and gaining the weight had made me feel like the biggest girl in all my dance classes, and had a huge effect on my mental health. I wish I could’ve had someone like you as my obgyn, and wish my obgyn wouldn’t have reacted to my weight gain the way she did. I’m currently in the process of finding a new obgyn, and hope I find someone like you. Idk why I just said any of that but I felt the need to rant 😂

  • Reason I switched from the pill to the Kyleena IUD: Migraines with aura. Reasons I stayed: Finally have a normal libido, back to regular blood pressure, no period, I'm SO MUCH HAPPIER.

  • I still don't trust birth control something about being artificially sterile for however many months or years just makes me extremely uncomfortable

  • That last one was horrible... Shame on her. She single-handedly caused a multitude of people to not seek medical attention. 😞

  • Someone needs to report that last video to her workplace. That is unacceptable.
