Officially, you're one of my favorite FIstreamrs out here!
3:29 that’s actually Thunderbolt 2
We waited for this but in the server side mf already has pcie 4.0 switch with fiber connection
At least Thunderbolt's naming scheme isn't as confusing as USB's.
SEE THIS VEDIO www.bilibili.com/video/BV1Wi4y157BW
When you have to pay $100 for a cable you know that the world is going into the wrong direction.
I always click to the next video when Linus starts to talk about the sponsors
I know this is going to be a hot take, but I miss this "old" presentation where they could superimpose people over other objects, as I feel that the presentation on later Techquickie videos now feels more sterile.
did intel ever stop to fool us?
But thunderbolt is half Apple?
Next generation Surface devices better come with thunderbolt 4.
FIstream make a video saying why Call of Duty mobile gets hot under a hour on the new oh no tab S6 evening when you delete all the videos and all the cash and everything you had to delete for more RAM space no me nice that will help me a lot I hope you get this I hope you get this comment have a good one I hope you have a good day I hope you had a good Christmas have a good one zienna next one
remember when those dumbasses thought we’d actually use the mini displayport thunderbolt connectors?
"Did Intel Fool Us?" Yes. And also no.
... who wants to remind Linus he just got 6 12k cameras?
last ever time techquickie's set was just a greenscreen
What are you hooking up to that fancy Thunderbolt hub? Keyboard and mouse. 🙄
eh i dont want apple to control a standard. i'm rooting for usb 4
Also you missed out on some Usb's they use the Thunderbolt logo as a quick Charge logo
man, the usb naming is a nightmare!
What will be after USB-Z?
@7eventee thanks m8
Usb Z gen 2
The only reason I want Thunderbolt is for an external graphics card. It’s so unfair that laptops are limited to certain graphics cards. I’d love to run a full blown RTX 2080 or even 3080 through a laptop. The increased PCIe bandwidth is exciting to me
Would you talk about the voting machine or system? Such as the dominion voting system? Since the world is watching this now, and I think people will be very interested in it... people said using this system the election result can be manipulated, is it really true? If then and how?
I just got a tiger lake ad lol Also thunderbolt? I thought that was a proprietary apple feature. I must have been thinking of lightning
How much lies do you want to tell? Intel: Yes
Mhmm
3:22 watch me plug a usb-c charging cable in when I expected a thunderbolt 4 cable and wonder why it doesn’t work.
Many new MOBO'S have type c gen2 , usb 3 gen2 which is red in colour. Explain that please.
4:20 Most ppl be now like: "Great now I can sign up to only fans! " 👀
right now Craig is shitting himself
Use External SSD on Windows 10 20H4 on Thunderbolt 4 Nice. BSOD
So after looking at that chart anyone telling me USB4 is the same as Thunderbolt 3 is either lying their ass off, or completely ignorant. I'm looking at you M1 Apple devices with your "Thunderbolt/USB4" label...
CPU over USB
Watch intel make thunderbolt 4 come out in two versions, thunderbolt 4K and thunderbolt 4, but you only get the full bandwidth with 4K.
Its really not an option when it stays a closed and expensive protocol. Do we really want to have a connection mess again? Give everything USB4.0 and call it a day.
complete BS, and flies in the face of what a standard is supposed to signify and convey.
I am the one who loads a lot of files around for UwU fun
I’m just watching and ad with Linus
The example at 3:28 is actually thunderbolt 2 as its plugged into a Macbook Pro Retina that came out between 2012 and 2015.
Intel. In it for the lolz. And that is it.
Why the hell is the USB naming looks like arithmetic.
Aww I love this new intro!
we love it
Shouldn't 8k display mean it can drive 4 4k displays, or do they mean fake 2x4k wide 8k displays?
Remind me, which companies (excluding Apple) were part of the: let's allow USB-C cables with sub USB3 speeds allowable (that is USB2 cables with USB-C connector)? I just remember that there were a handful of them.
that one camera guy from 2016 looks like he would be good at judging movie special effects.
on cards and adapters. USB 3.1 over USB A is all anyone needs. Boycott the rest of the garbage.
4:53 that's a MUCH bigger threat for metro players
And this is why AMD is gaining on Intel right now, and Apple even ditched you guys!
The most confusing technology
To this day I still don't know if he is Linus
Something tells me Apple had a roll in this
Intel is already dead...
Intel.. a technology of yesterday. Too bad these morons were more focused on milking their existing customer rather than providing any meaningful technological upgrade.
DHCP AFAP PLEASE!
Intel. In it for the lolz. And that is it.
thunderbolt/usb names and versions are a mess, they should clean it up
Why the fuck does he have so many channels?
What about Oculus?
3:29 those are thunderbolt 2
USB is anything but universal.
This is turning into the 90s all over again. 100 different standards that are impossible for consumers to keep track of, and meanwhile manufacturers are making a killing on add-on cards and adapters. USB 3.1 over USB A is all anyone needs. Boycott the rest of the garbage.
Don't appreciate the dig at Corridor Digital. They simply responded with their thoughts on your video.
So when will we get a laptop with a thunderbolt 4 port?
I am worried about intel
3:28 Thats thunderbolt 2
sorry. intel is irrelevant at this point
Lmao I got the Pulseway ad - featuring Linus, when I clicked this video
Reply for the thumbnail: Ya, since core2duo.
40GB++
So tb4 is more compatible with some USB capabilities and double the minimum speed spec cool!
I got an Intel ad before this video.
the thunderbolt is such a pain in the ass to support. most of the times there are always driver and compatibilities issues with business devices. why have this not been iron out? it's easier to recommend the usb specifications to my clients and stray away from thunderbolt, less nonsensical phone calls
Still trying to figure out what to do with Thunderbolt 2 ports. #abandonware
minimum pc requirements for thunderbolt 3 - 16gb/sec pcie, minimum thunderbolt 4 requirements - 32gb/sec pcie.... WHY DIDNT THEY JUST SAY IT HAS TO HAVE PCIE 4.0?! That's clearly all they changed. They made vague claims to max speed on 3.0 and now they are confident it will hit the original speed targets set for last gen now that the pcie bandwidth is doubled.
Having the same name for varying speeds is extremely annoying. USB-4 should mean the same speed otherwise the name USB-4 doesn't mean much.
Please... Redo the cleanest setup with a Tiger lake laptop (That has thunderbolt 4) and a 3090 and some external peripherals. There is a lot that can happen in 2 years.
@Tech quickie you lied about the laptop market about thunderbolt 4 the New MacBook Air and Pro have it already get your dam facts right intel processors are second in line Apple got it first get the dam facts right
So intel is just catching up with its lies
What about QDR memory or DDR 5?
The biggest thing about TB4 - it WORKS. No more guessing "does this port support XYZ?". Knowing that any TB4 connection will always work at 2m with a cheap passive cable, that it always supports at least 2x 4K monitors, that you can charge your laptop with it - that is really helpful. (and it is a superset of USB4 - got an USB4-device? You can connect it to TB4 and every single function will work) USB 3 over Type-C had soooo many optional features. One really great one would be ANALOG audio over USB-C. Yes - the same output you get from the good old headphone-jack. But of course that was optional. With that mobile phones could really argue that you do not need the jack anymore but of course - nope, didn't happen.
I have an 8k camera but we don't use it for FIstream videos. We use it for film making. We're not as sophisticated as you are
I reached to see you but i saw the Ad you.
Thunderbolt is like FireWire which I think is pretty cool
Apple/ goes away from intel Apple at the same time : uses usb 4 from intel ME: WTH THATS ONLY JUST ONLY CPU LINE?????
3:30 Well judging by DP connector it's neither of both :)
Why do we even have active development on Thunderbolt any more? I wish we just standardize on one standard - USB 4 that's all. I also wish USB association uses clear naming standard. No 3.1 Gen 2 kind of naming. At most you could have 4.1, 4.2 etc. The name should be self descriptive. If you have devices with different speed, just make the speed part of the name/labelling/logo. Just say USB 4.1 12M (For 12 Mbps devices) or USB 4.1 40G (for 40 Gbps devices). This makes the capabilities more apparent to a layman than USB 3.1 Gen 2. Also standardize USB Type C Power Delivery and ensure strict conformance for interoperability. Apparently manufacturers make assumptions that their chargers are going to be used with only their devices or vice versa. I recently blew my phone by plugging it into a type C charger for laptop. This phone did support USB PD but apparently only up to 9V and the adapter was probably supplying 20V. The Interoperability needs to be foolproof.
Summary is the same that Thunderbolt 3 offer but in Thunderbolt 3 were quite a few thing optional so a lot of manufacturers were with the minimum requirements (for example 20Gbps and no usb-c charge) and now basically the minimum Thunderbolt 4 is complete Thunderbolt 3 so you don’t have to worry if X thunderbolt 3 laptop can or cannot charge or how many PCIe lanes the manufacturer decided to use instead of 4 that ideally should be (some used only 2)
Also known as Thunderbolt 4 is a Thunderbolt 3 with consistency
USB 4 - 20?!?!? That's lit.
techquickie should not have titles like linus media or shortcircuit
Omg did Teran finally replace his Bose headphones that have been taped together forever?
That ad tho had to watch it all looks good
USB /Thunberbolt for running a monitor....well i guess there is a good reason why we use HDMI and Displayports...
Intel is better than amd.
It supports 2 4k monitors, but at what refresh rate?
*1. Were we been cheated with TB 3 at first place?!* *2. MacBook M1 has USB 4 with same 40Gbit speeds as well* explain
Waiting for USB-E
What device is that on the bottom of the monitor at 1:22 ?
This channel shouldn't name their videos like this since this is a informational channel let's say some dude wants to know about thunderbolt 4 then he will search thunderbolt 4 and not Intel lied to us
Correct question is, did intel fool us next time
The person that came up with the naming for all those USB variations - I wonder what they named their children 🤔 “This is family member 2.1 gen 2 and this one is family member 2.1 gen 2 + 1”
i got an ad that linus was acting in and i thought that it was a another video-
All Apple M1 processor equipped Macs support Thunderbolt 4
